Amanda Cooper Landscapes, Houses and Gardens in watercolour

My profile

SIENA 2019

Hello and Welcome to my website. Although I do enjoy pastels from time to time, water colour is my preferred medium. Inspiration comes from the wilder countryside around home with it's shifting light and challenging weather. Other ideas come from my travels as tour leader to far flung places such as Myanmar and Georgia when there is a spare moment. I have been running an informal art class on a termly basis for close to thirty years, starting in my sitting room and now in our garden studio.  These ten week terms are currently £250 and operate on a first booked (paid) basis. At the moment we are only 6 per class but hopefully the autumn of 2021 may see us return to normal numbers which are between 8-10. All my lessons are suited to the individual at whatever level and drawing is key to what we do. When I am not teaching I work on commissions of houses and their surroundings. 2020 saw a monthly watercolour diary of our garden for the Leisure Painter Magazine and I am currently working on a book about painting the elements (ie earth wind and fire)  based on my experience of a year in lockdown here in our village.   All recent work can be viewed and you can also email me direct from this site. As an additional extra my little art book Sienna or Madder is reviewed here by Artist magazine and for sale under the BLOG tab.£10 if I dont have to post it!
